As many as 6,000 fans are expected to pack Kent’s ShoWare Center Tuesday night for the Seattle Thunderbirds hockey game against the rival Everett Silvertips.
Fans are buying up the 2-for-1 ticket promotion as only 500 tickets remained Tuesday afternoon for the 7:05 p.m. game. ShoWare Center officials are encouraging fans to arrive early because of the large crowd.
Seattle (13-17-0-1) is in fourth place in the U.S. Division of the Western Hockey League. Everett (6-21-1-5) is in fifth or last place in the division. The Silvertips are 2-10-1-3 on the road.
Seattle goalkeeper Calvin Pickard ranks fourth on the WHL’s career saves list with 6,563.
