Tyler Cowan’s sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th inning scored the eventual game-winning run as Kentwood defeated Kentlake 5-4 in a North Puget Sound League Cascade Division game at Hogan Park at Russell Road Park on Monday.
The Conquerors moved to 7-3 in league, 8-7 overall. The Falcons remain in first place at 8-2, 11-5 overall. Kentlake won the first game of the home-and-home series 6-2 last Wednesday.
Cowan’s sac fly brought home Nate Franceschina, who led off the inning with a double.
Ty Collins, Jackson Proctor and Raheem Rivera each had an RBI for Kentwood.
James Spickelmier, in relief of starter Nick Musga, three five shutout innings, striking out 11 and walking six, to earn the win. Spickelmier, Musga and Wyatt Hansen combined on a five-hitter.
Reliver Anthony Elston took the loss.
Drew Biggerstaff drove in two runs for Kentlake.
Elsewhere
Kentridge 9, at Hazen 2: Trent Jackson homered and Cameron Denny had three doubles and drove in two runs as the Chargers (7-3, 11-3) beat the Highlanders(2-8, 5-10) in an NPSL Cascade game Monday.
Kentridge is on a seven-game winning streak.
Jordan Rourke doubled and drove in two runs. Cameron Hoiland and Lucas Turk, who doubled, each had an RBI for the Chargers.
