Nick Musga scattered five hits in 6⅔ shutout innings to lead Kentwood to a 5-0 victory over Kennedy Catholic in a North Puget Sound League Cascade Division game at Hogan Park at Russell Road on Monday.
The Conquerors improved to 6-2 in league, a game behind the leader, Kentlake, and 7-6 overall. The Lancers are 5-3 and 10-3.
Wyatt Hansen got the final out and the save. He also went 2-for-3, with a triple and run scored.
Alex Tan doubled and drove in a run. James Spickelmier, who tripled, and Nate Franceschina each had an RBI.
At Burien, Kentwood erupted for six runs in the seventh inning to overcome Kennedy Catholic 12-10 on April 4.
Tied at 10-10, Musga singled on a 0-2 count to drive in two runs for Kentwood.
Jackson Proctor doubled and drove in three runs for Kentwood. Raheem Rivera went 3-for-5, with two RBI and scored two runs. Ryan Stansell also went 3-for-5, with an RBI.
Jacob Yang collected four hits in five at-bats, including a double, and scored three runs for the Conks.
Franceschina got the win in relief, allowing four hits and seven runs over two innings. Hansen recorded the last three outs to earn the save.
