The West Central District baseball tournament dodged rain showers last Saturday and eventually completed the bracket at Art Wright Field.
Kentwood took second losing to Puyallup 9-4. Matt Franceschina threw for the Conquerors and took the loss.
For the Conks, Tre’Sean Steele went 1-3 at the plate with one RBI and scoring one run. Shane McGuire hit 1-4 scoring once and adding one RBI. Alex Yu hit 2-4 with run and one RBI.
Kentwood beat Kennedy Catholic 4-1 earlier in the day.
Cole Trotignon was the winning pitcher.
The Conks opened the tournament beating Skyview 4-0.
Kentlake
Kentlake took third beating Kennedy Catholic 5-4.
Dylan Mackie earned the win for the Falcons. Jacob Butler hit 4-4 with two run. Jayke Chavez hit 1-2 with a walk and he scored a run and added one RBI. Caleb Jaime hit 1-3 with one run and one RBI. Shane Nagel hit 2-4 with one RBI.
The Falcons lost earlier in the day to Puyallup 4-0. Jordon Wright was the losing pitcher.
Kentlake opened the tournament with a 5-0 win over Sumner.
Kentridge
The Chargers played two games at the district tournament. They opened the tournament with a 7-5 win over South Kitsap on May 6. The winning pitcher for the Chargers was Ted Dominguez.
The team ended the season with a 7-2 loss to Battle Ground May 9. Mike Callia took the loss for Kentridge.
State
The 4A state championship tournament begins Saturday.
The Falcons play at 10 a.m. at Heritage Park in Puyallup against Issaquah.
Kentwood plays at 1 p.m. at Foss High School in Tacoma against Battle Ground.
