For the second time this month, Kentwood defused Federal Way for local boys basketball supremacy.
The fifth-ranked Conquerors, behind Rayvaughn Bolton’s 20 points, defeated the No. 4 Eagles 77-59 to capture the 4A West Central/Southwest District title at Puyallup High School on Saturday.
Kentwood knocked off Federal Way 65-59, snapping the Eagles’ 63-game winning streak and capturing the 4A North Puget Sound League title on Feb. 4.
There will be a third meeting. The teams will meet in the regional round of the state playoffs at 6 p.m. Saturday at Puyallup High School.
Koby Huerta had 15 points and D’Angelo Minnis and Eli’sha Sheppard each had 10 for Kentwood.
Kentridge, meanwhile, defeated Enumclaw 59-53 in the district playoffs to claim a spot in the regional round of the state playoffs. The Chargers play Kennedy Catholic at 8 p.m. Friday at Puyallup’s Rogers High School.
