Kentridge defeated Kentwood 17-6 in a season-opening boys water polo game at the Covington Aquatic Center on Tuesday.
Koji Yoshima, a junior, led the Chargers with six goals. Sophomore Erik Leiber had four goals, Milo Anderson scored three and Mac Brennan added two. Steven Rosengren and Adrian Tirtu each scored a goal.
For Kentwood, Alex Maloy had a hat trick, Jan Grobbelaar scored a pair of goals and Dallas George added another.
Kentridge took on Auburn Mountainview on Friday at the Lindbergh pool.
Hunter Arnold, a 2013 Auburn Mountainview graduate, is the new coach of a young Kentridge team.
