Jada Leonard had 15 points and Aniston Denckla finished with 12, leading torrid Kentlake to a 55-35 rout of Puyallup in a West Central District 4A girls basketball quarterfinal playoff game at Auburn High School on Saturday.
The Falcons (19-4), winners of 15 of their last 16 games, clinched a berth in the regional round of the state playoffs. They face Bellarmine Prep, a 49-44 overtime survivor against Kentridge, in the district semifinals at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at Puyallup High School.
Sophomore Morgan Gary scored 19 points for the Chargers in the hard-fought loss.
Kentridge (17-6) plays Rogers in an elimination game at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Tahoma High School.
Elsewhere, Kent-Meridian stayed alive in consolation-round play, beating Timberline 51-43 on Saturday. The Royals (13-11) take on Olympia in another elimination game at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Auburn High School.
