Colin Jacobs is Kent Reporter's Thunderbird of the Week | Video

Kent Reporter’s Player of the week is Seattle Thunderbird forward Colin Jacobs, 18, from Coppell Texas. Jacobs has spent his who career with the Thunderbirds, and currently has appeared in 7 games scoring 2 goals 1 assist. Last year Jacobs was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the fourth round, 107th overall, in the 2011 Entry Draft. Jacobs tied for third with Travis Toomey for goals scored this season. He had 22 goals and 22 assists for 44 points. Jacobs had a hat trick against the Prince George Cougars on December 1 at CN Centre. He also had an assist in this game to give him four points in a game, which tied him with five other T-Birds for the most points in a game this season. Jacobs scored two goals in a game three times this season: on November 12 at the Regina Pat, on November 24 against the Tri-City American and on January 21 against the Kelowna Rockets. Jacobs combined with Burke Gallimore to score two goals in 16 seconds against at the Spokane Chiefs on February 23. Jacobs scored at 4:44 and Gallimore scored at 5:01 of the third period for the fastest two goals of the season. He has six two-game point streaks over the course of the season.
