Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
A: Math.
Q: What other activities do you participate in?
A: I enjoy working out and pottery.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: Both my parents have helped me succeed the most because they are always supporting me and pushing me to do my best.
Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?
A: My pre-game ritual is that I always stick to the same exact warm-up routine every time.
Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?
A: “Old Town Road” remix.

“Suffering a key injury to their pitching staff and shorthanded after a 10-inning game versus Kentwood, the Falcons backs were up against the wall and senior leader and pitcher Kadin Salisbury called for the ball. On short rest against second-place Kentridge, he threw a gem. In total, Salisbury pitched six innings last week, surrendering just one run against two of the NPSL’s top teams while earning the win against Kentridge last Wednesday night. Salisbury is also a leader in the clubhouse and classroom, posting a 3.90 GPA.”

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
A: American Sign Language, government and politics.
Q: What other activities do you participate in?
A: Baking, cooking, running and basketball.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: My mom. She has always supported me in everything I do.
Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?
A: Yes, I just put my earbuds in and listen to my playlist, which gets me in the zone.
Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?
A: “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen.

“Katie Valerio is an amazing student-athlete, on and off the tennis court, and deserves to be the Athlete of the Week. Katie is finishing up her fourth season as a varsity tennis player, is co-captain and won both of her league matches last week – defeating her opponents from Kentwood and Mount Rainier. Katie is a natural leader and role model for her younger teammates and always encourages others to do their best. Not only is Katie a great tennis player, she also runs cross country and played basketball through her sophomore year. Katie is in the top 5 percent of her graduating class for grades, holds down a part-time job, is the American Sign Language (ASL) president, Link Crew president, and plans to attend the University of Utah next fall.”
