“Natano deserves to be Athlete of the Week because of his last couple of games. He has scored eight rushing TDs and thrown four passing TDs in his last two games. Natano has really stepped up as a leader this season. He has led us on a six-game winning streak. Natano is a big reason that Kentridge football is having a successful season.

Kentridge High School’s Haley DePriest, swimming, is the Kent Reporter’s Female Athlete of the Week.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Marketing.

Q: What other activities do you participate in?

A: I enjoy wakeboarding, water skiing and spending time with friends and family.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My brother. Without him, I wouldn’t have known I had a passion for marketing, I wouldn’t have had the drive to do well in school, and I probably wouldn’t be swimming anymore.

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: I like to get in my zone by either listening to music or just closing my eyes and envisioning my race.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Wake Up in the Sky” by Gucci Mane, Bruno Mars, and Kodak Black

From the Sideline

“Her freestyle is powerful, graceful and flawless. She has achieved districts times in all freestyle events and has continued to PR at every meet. Haley is projected to allocate to state in her 200 and 500 freestyle races. She set a goal for herself this season to swim every event, and she has accomplished this goal along with achieving NPSL qualifying times in all events but the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke.”
