Kent Reporter Female Athlete of the Week: Anna Shved

Shved is undefeated this year on the court for the Conk tennis team.

The Kent Reporter’s female athlete of the week for the week of Mar. 22 is Kentwood High School senior Anna Shved, girls tennis.

What is your favorite subject/class in school?

My favorite subject in school is Math, over the years of being in school I found this to be a subject that gets more complicated, yet I find it fascinating to solve and learn how all this comes into use in our daily lives.

Name your Mount Rushmore (Top 4) favorite movies:

Spirited Away, Dune, Green Book and Pirates of the Caribbean

Who is the person in your life that has helped you succeed the most?

The person in my life that helped me succeed the most would be my family. Specifically, my parents that support me along the way and helped me grow and become what I am today.

You’re on a long road trip, you stop at a gas station. You get one drink and one snack. What are you choosing?

The drink I would get from the gas station would be the half-iced tea half lemonade from the brand Arizona. For the snack I would buy hi-chew.

Describe your pre-game ritual:

Putting on a good song before a match and warming-up with my teammates. Allowing me to relax and zone in before the match. With this comes me reassuring my skills and putting the mentality on that I will use everything I learned on that court this game.

Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

From the sidelines: Anna made districts last year and is undefeated so far this year. She is a hard worker and a great teammate.
