Kentridge High School sophomore JaQuaya Miller and Kentwood High senior Rayvaughn Bolton were each named the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association 4A Athletes of the Week.

The Kentridge girls and Kentwood boys teams each won state titles on March 4.

Miller scored 27 of her team’s 60 points in the championship game to capture the 4A state trophy at the Hardwood Classic at the Tacoma Dome. She also had 17 rebounds, five steals, two blocks and an assist.

Bolton had 19 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead the Conquerors to the 4A title over Union 81-61. He was 4 of 6 for three-pointers and 3 for 3 at the free-throw line.

Athletes are nominated by community members and selected by WIAA staff as Athletes of the Week. In recognition of their accomplishment, each Athlete of the Week winner receives a congratulatory letter from WIAA Executive Director Mike Colbrese, a commemorative WIAA State Athlete of the Week t-shirt, and a certificate. Winners are also posted to the WIAA website, wiaa.com.
