The Stars have re-signed Gig Harbor native Adam West, a defender. Per league and team policies, terms of the agreement were not released.
West appeared in nine matches for the Stars last season, picking up eight goals in that time. He posted three straight games with two goals scored between Dec. 22, 2018 and Jan. 2, 2019.
West began his pro career in 2007 with the USL First Division Seattle Sounders. That same season, he played 13 games with the Milwaukee Wave, then a member of the MISL. After five seasons of outdoor soccer, West ventured indoors again with the Tacoma Stars. During his first stint in Tacoma, he had 15 goals in 20 games.
West played outdoors in 2015 and 2016 with Louisville City and Arizona United before heading back to Tacoma last season. For his indoor career, West has played in 42 games and netted 23 goals.
“Adam West is a very special player,” said Stars coach Nick Perera. “He’s different in that he’s a physical, strong and athletic defender, and he’s an enormous threat going forward. The power and precision of his shooting is an incredible asset to the team, and I’m very happy he’s decided to come back for more Stars soccer.”
