The Kent-based Seattle Mist women’s football team just keeps on winning.

Seattle clobbered the Los Angeles Temptation 56-20 in the Legends Football League championship game Sept. 7 at the accesso ShoWare Center for their third Legends Football League title in the last five years.

Mist players KK Matheny, Stevi Schnoor and Katie Whelan have been part of each title year, according to a Sept. 16 posting on the Legends Football League website. The Mist led 35-6 at halftime in the seven-on-seven tackle football showdown.

Matheny became the first quarterback with three Legends Cup titles. Matheny was 12 of 16 passing for 117 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Her passer rating of 134.6 might never be topped in a Legends Cup Game.

Schnoor, playing in her last LFL game, put together one of the best performances of her career. She had three rushing touchdowns, over 80 all-purpose yards, two big receptions, led the Mist in tackles and had a pair of interceptions, according to the Legends Football League.

Kiara Williams, playing in her second Legends Cup, had the game of her career. Williams rushed for a touchdown, averaged 8.8 yards-per-carry on four rushes, caught a pair of touchdown receptions and had an interception.

Seattle has been in the league since it started as the Lingerie Football League in 2009. The Mist are one of the original tenants of the city-owned ShoWare Center.
