KC JAGS: AT A GLANCE
• COACH: Mike Astley, third year.
• LAST YEAR’S RECORD: 4-6.
• ABOUT THE LEAGUE: The Jaguars are part of the 144-team North American Football League. They play in the Northwest Region of the Western Conference. The Northwest Region is split into two divisions, the Cascade Division and the Olympic Division. The Jaguars play in the four-team Olympic Division, along with the Bellingham Bulldogs, West Sound Saints and Langley (B.C.) Longhorns.
• LEVEL OF PLAY: The Jaguars are considered a minor league (or semipro) team, equivalent to a Double-A baseball team. The players pay a seasonal fee, practice once a week and play games on Saturdays.
• HOME: French Field on the campus of Kent-Meridian High.
• OFFENSE: A spread out version of the wing-T.
• DEFENSE: 5-2.
• RETURNING PLAYERS: Andrew Pina, OL/DL; Garrett Cason, OL/LB; Ben Dickmeyer, OL/DL; John Monte, WR/DB; Artinez Kelly, LB/OL; Gerald Warren, OL/DL.
