If the Pasco Invitational is a preview of the Star Track state meet – and many say it is – then Andre Moore and Sean Harris have to like where they’re standing.
Moore flew 45 feet, 7 inches to win the triple jump, and Harris finished second in the 110-meter hurdles last Saturday in the prestigious midseason meet at Edgar Brown Stadium, site of next month’s Star Track.
Last year at state, Moore took third in the triple jump at 45-3 1/4. Harris, who logged a 14.69 on Saturday, was second in the 110s in last season’s Star Track at 14.70.
Harris was just two hundredths of a second behind David Butler of Spokane’s North Central in the 110 hurdles. Harris won’t see Butler at state, as North Central is a Class 3A school.
KW trio wins in Bellevue
Darrius Coleman of Kentwood won the 110 hurdles in the boys meet, Lindsey Moore of the Conquerors took the high jump on the girls side, and teammate Dana Wareham won the girls’ 400 meters in last Saturday’s Bellevue Invitational.
Coleman, clocked a 15.21 in the 110s at Bellevue, beating Inglemoor’s Austin Victor by 23 hundredths of a second. Moore cleared 5-4 in the high jump, two inches better than runner-up Jennifer Wamsley of Jefferson.
Wareham’s winning time in the 400 was 1:01.05.
