More than 1,000 track and field athletes from 26 Kent elementary schools will compete in the Junior Olympics from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at French Field next to Kent-Meridian High School.
Boys and girls in the fourth-through-sixth grades will compete in the long jump, softball throw, 75-yard dash, 600-yard run and the 4 x 75-yard shuttle relay. The top five teams in each division will receive trophies. The top five competitors in each event receive ribbons.
The Junior Olympics are sponsored by Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services department
