The 33rd annual Bear Run and Walk 5K is scheduled for 9 a.m. June 12 at Lake Wilderness Park, 22500 SE 248th St., Maple Valley.
The race, which is run in conjunction with Maple Valley Days, brings a slightly modified course with a new and improved start location inside the park.
Tortoise and Hare Timing will provide chip timing. Disposable chips will be placed on the back of bib numbers.
The Bear Run and Walk is geared toward seasoned runners, casual walkers, families and kids.Participants who register by
May 30 are guaranteed a T-shirt, and top finishers will be eligible for awards, including the coveted teddy bears for age group winners and cowbells for runners-up. The fee is $25 for adults; kids 12 and under are free.
Late registrations will be accepted in the staging area up to 30 minutes before the race. For late registration, add $5. Packet pickup and day-of-race registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.
