Vernon Word scored two touchdowns, the first of which snapped a scoreless tie in the second quarter, and Nathan Proctor notched a pair of second-half TDs as the King County Jaguars rolled to a 42-0 victory against the Valley Mustangs a North American Football League game at Auburn Memorial Stadium.
After Word’s 47-yard run put the Jaguars (2-1) on the board, Duane Brown hit Joe Alford with a 40-yard TD pass to boost King County’s lead to 14-0 by halftime. Proctor scored his first touchdown of the night during the third quarter, taking it 3 yards into the end zone to make it 21-0.
The Jags then racked up 21 points during the fourth quarter: an 8-yard run by Proctor, a 17-yarder by Word, and a 26-yard scoring pass from Rabbit Vasa to Ejai Curran, completing the scoring.
The Jaguars return to action Saturday against the East County Blackshirts of Gresham, Ore., at 7 p.m. at French Field.
