Even a final 3-pointer in the last 15 seconds of overtime couldn’t bring the Kentridge High boys basketball team back from a four-point deficit against the Jackson Timberwolves on Friday in the 4A Hardwood Classic state boys basketball tournament at the Tacoma Dome.
Jackson beat the Chargers 60-57 in overtime in a fourth-place semifinal game. The loss ended Kentridge’s season. The Chargers lost 63-41 to Garfield on Thursday in the opening round. Jackson will play for the fourth-place trophy on Saturday.
Jawan Stepney led Kentridge with 32 points and Keasean Kelley scored 15 points. Brian Zehr scored 23 points, Jason Todd 20 and Dan Kingma 14 for Jackson, of Mill Creek.
