Hinton, Gray to be special guests at Tacoma Stars game in Kent

March 18 game to celebrate former coaches of the Stars; Hinton also coached the Seattle Sounders

Alan Hinton and Gerry Gray will be special guests of the Tacoma Stars at their Major Arena Soccer League game against the Mesquite Outlaws at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, March 18 at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent.

Hinton coached the Stars from 1985 to 1990. He coached the Seattle Sounders from 1980 to 1982. The Sounders lost 1-0 to the New York Cosmos in the 1982 Soccer Bowl of the North American Soccer League, which disbanded in 1984.

Grey was a player/coach for Tacoma from 2010 to 2012. He played for Canada in the 1984 Olympics and in the 1982 World Cup.

Hinton and Gray will be featured as part of Retro/Alumni night. The two will be celebrated at halftime and will be signing autographs prior to the game, according to a ShoWare Center press release. The team will wear retro jerseys.

The Stars, as of March 9, were 8-7-1 and in sixth place in the Western Conference.

Tickets are available at accessoshowarecenter.com. Prices are $42, $32 and $26.
