• TOP RETURNERS: Emily Hull, sr., No. 1 doubles; Yisel Navarro, sr.; Jiwon Song, sr., No. 1 doubles; Briana Tran, sr., No. 2 doubles; Kerlyn Ngu, sr.; Triccia Orallo, sr.; Makayli Hymes, so., No. 2 doubles; Sara Davison, so.
• TOP NEWCOMERS: Laura Tran, fr.; Faviola Fernandez, so.; Karen Gomez, so.
• OUTLOOK: Kent-Meridian hasn’t won a league match since 2008, but there’s plenty of excitement on the K-M court this spring. Nearly 50-plus girls turned out for this year’s team, which will be playing under first-year coach Steve Walters. Walters, a USPTA tennis professional since 1986, has a strong foothold on the area tennis scene. He has coached at Kennedy, Green River Community College, Foster and Auburn Mountainview. In addition, the Royals have some solid returning talent in Hull, Navarro, Song, Briana Tran and Hymes, but also are receiving a nice infusion of talent in Laura Tran, Fernandez and Gomez.
