Burke Gallimore scored two goals Nov. 26 at Comcast Arena in Everett to help lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 4-1 victory over the Everett Silvertips.
The T-Birds improve their record to 11-5-3-4 with the win.
Mitch Elliot put the T-Birds in front 1-0 at 1:58 of the first period with his third goal of the year. Colin Jacobs carried the puck down the right side of the ice into the Everett zone. Jacobs made a move inside and put a shot on goal. Jacobs’ shot was partially blocked by an Everett defender and came right to Elliot in the left circle. Elliot whipped the puck past Everett goalie Kent Simpson high for the go-ahead goal.
Everett outshot Seattle 12-7 in the first period.
Burke Gallimore gave the T-Birds a 2-0 led at 1:09 of the second period with his 13th goal of the year. Brendan Rouse fed the puck to Gallimore in the neutral zone. Gallimore came into the Everett zone and at the top of the circles, faked right and then split the Tips defensemen to come in alone on Simpson. An Everett defender hooked Gallimore and as he was falling down he put a shot on goal that beat Simpson low on the stick side. Gallimore extended his point streak to four games with the goal.
Everett (11-10-1-3) cut the T-Birds lead to one goal at 16:37 of the second with a power-play goal. Josh Winquist and Brennan Yadlowski had the assists.
The Tips outshot the T-Birds 10-7 in the second period and led 22-14 in shots after two periods.
Marcel Noebels scored 17 seconds into the third period to put the T-Birds back up by two goals. Noebels got to a loose puck along the left boards in the neutral zone. He came into the Everett zone, cut into the high slot and put a hard wrist shot on goal. Noebels’ shot beat Simpson over the glove for his seventh goal of the year.
Gallimore scored an empty-net goal with 25 seconds left in the game to secure the win for the T-Birds. Gallimore put a shot on the Everett net from the right boards just outside the Everett zone. Erik Bonsor had an assist on the goal.
The T-Birds outshot the Silvertips 11-9 in the third period but the Tips held the advantage in the game, 31-25.
Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard stopped 30 of 31 shots and his record improves to 11-5-2-4.
