Funny Cars squared off at the Northwest BB Funny Car Association points race at Pacific Raceways in Kent last Saturday.
The association opened up its season with a nine-car showcase.
In the final, reigning points champion driver Kim Parker – driving the Hell On Wheels car – posted a 6.79-second, 203.65-miles-per-hour quarter-mile run to edge Matt Driscoll, who posted a 6.61 at 213.20 mph in the Wildside car.
Association race drivers strive to get as close to a 6.75 time on the strip, with the winner being the car and driver closest to that time.
Founded in 2008, the association races throughout the Pacific Northwest, including Canada.
