Malachi Flynn poured in 39 points as Bellarmine Prep downed Kentwood 67-63 for third place in the West Central District boys basketball tournament at Mount Tahoma High School on Saturday.

Kentwood enters this week’s regional round of the state playoffs as the district’s fourth seed. The Conquerors open the state regionals against Cascade of Everett at 4 p.m. Saturday at Everett Community College.

Darius LuBom had 18 points and Rayvaughn Bolton finished with 11 points for the Conquerors.

Kentwood dropped a 58-48 semifinal game to heralded Federal Way at Auburn High School on Wednesday. Bolton led the way with 13 points.

Elsewhere, Kentridge lost 62-54 to Timberline on Saturday for the district’s fifth seed to the state regionals.

Joran Ticeson and Ethan Walker each scored 14 points and Elijah Ticeson had 12 for the Chargers, who will enter the state regionals as the district’s sixth seed.

The Chargers take on Central Valley in a state regional playoff at 8 p.m. Saturday at University High School in Spokane Valley.

Kentridge survived three elimination games to advance, including a 62-49 win over Yelm on Wednesday.
