Kentwood and Kentridge are within reach of state Class 4A state basketball berths.
The Conquerors take on Olympia in a West Central District second-round playoff game at 6 p.m. Friday at Auburn Mountainview High School, with the winner advancing to state.
Behind Darius Lubom’s 20 points, Kentwood downed Emerald Ridge 58-41 on Wednesday to advance.
Kentridge faces Bellarmine Prep in a winner-to-state game at 6 p.m. Friday at Mount Tahoma High School.
The Chargers outlasted Kent-Meridian 69-64 in overtime Wednesday. Joran Ticeson had 19 points and Ethan Walker finished with 12 points for Kentridge. The Royals’ Mahlik Hall led all scorers with 23 points. Romaine Jackson had 18.
The Royals take on Spanaway Lake in an elimination game at 6 p.m. Friday at Auburn High School.
