A thrilling new spectacle that is taking America by storm is coming to accesso ShoWare Center in Kent.

Bullfighters Only (BFO) consists of daring freestyle bullfighters (new-age rodeo clowns) dodging and jumping over aggressive bulls, in the ultimate showdown between man and beast.

BFO will make a key stop in the Evergreen State for the Kent Cup at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. The event is being promoted by local rodeo bullfighting legend Danny Newman, of Eatonville, and his company Rag Dolled Productions.

“Being invited to compete at the BFO Kent Cup means everything to me,” said bullfighter Anthony Morse, of Port Orchard, in a BFO news release. “I’ll take my game to another level in my home state. I’ll be ready, and the other bullfighters will need to bring their best if they want to beat me on my own turf.”

Morse is ranked 25th in the BFO World Standings. Aaron Mercer, of Calgary, Alberta, leads the standings.

Each combatant during the action-packed show has one minute to rack up points, with 100 points being a perfect score. The bullfighter accounts for up to 50 points, based on factors like degree of difficulty, style and control as he moves around and jumps over the bull. The bull can also tally up to 50 points for his speed, aggressiveness and willingness to stay engaged with the fighter.

With the BFO Championship looming in December at Las Vegas, the sport’s top athletes are vying for valuable points towards the BFO World Standings and will battle for $25,000 in prize money.

Tickets are $50, $35 and $20. For tickets, go to accessoshowarecenter.com of the ShoWare Center Box Office, 625 W. James St.
