The Seattle Thunderbirds junior hockey team and WARM 106.9 annual Teddy Bear Toss Game presented by Fred Meyer is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 against the Portland Winterhawks at the ShoWare Center in Kent.
Fans are encouraged to bring as many teddy bears and stuffed animals as possible to the game. The bears will later be distributed to local police and fire departments who give them to children in times of emergency and crisis.
After the T-Birds first goal of the game fans should throw teddy bears and stuffed animals on to the ice. The bears are collected by the Teddy Bear Patrol. Fans donated 4,832 bears at last year’s Teddy Bear Toss Game.
Fred Meyer is donating bears to Seattle Children’s Hospital who will be selling them at the game for $5. All proceeds raised from the sale of bears goes directly to Children’s Hospital.
