I would like to thank Brian Beckley for the best Our Corner commentary (“Civics 101: Election shows split in America”, Nov. 18) I’ve seen in this paper.
His article was spot on.
I wish our schools did as good of a job teaching and reinforcing the thinking of our founding fathers and why they did what they did, as it appears lacking.
I did not vote for Mr. Trump, nor did I vote for Mrs. Clinton, but like Beckley alluded to, I am one of those that for many reasons, feel unrepresented, over-regulated and intruded upon by our government under President Obama.
Despite the reasons I had for not voting for Mr. Trump, I am willing to give him a chance.
Isn’t it interesting that basically the same message was pronounced by both Obama and Trump – hope and change?
