On Nov. 8, we have an opportunity to vote for improvements in our schools and community without raising taxes. I’m voting in favor of the Kent School District bond for several reasons.
Investing in our education system is one of the best investments we can make to ensure a successful future for the children in our community. The bond will provide much needed repairs, improvements and new schools to reduce over crowding and improve safety. Students deserve every opportunity to succeed and the bond is necessary to provide a learning environment so they can become adults who help our community thrive and prosper.
Secondly, schools are a foundation of our community providing an important place for us to gather, work out and learn. The building and facility improvements will not only benefit students but also churches, sports organizations, clubs and others who utilize them.
This bond is a renewal and therefore will not raise the tax rate. It is also endorsed by Republican and Democratic representatives. Vote yes for Kent schools and our community.
