I hope the Legislature was able to figure out how much to spend for books and transportation without having to hire too many “professionals.”
Now they are talking about seeking professional help to figure out what to pay the state teachers. This is 2016. What have they been doing since 2012 when the courts told them they were not doing that?
Maybe we should have voted in some of those professional people, then we would already be paying some to do the job without any added cost.
Four years and we have gotten nowhere. The Legislature still has a $100,000-a-day fine hanging over them, but that does not seem to inspire any quick solution.
As I have said before, this is election time, and if they cannot hear us because they are too busy seeking professional help, then maybe we should talk louder with our vote.
