The July 25 Kent Reporter ran a quote from someone you may have never heard of: Arnold Glashow.
The quote: “An idea not coupled with action will never get any bigger than the brain cell it occupied.”
If you’ve never heard of him, you’re not alone. This humor-magazine creator from Illinois loved his anonymity, but was quoted in all manner of major publications during his lifetime, including the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, the Chicago Tribune, even Reader’s Digest.
According to WikiAnswers, Glashow created and marketed a humor magazine, that he sold to other companies, which in turn published it under their own brands as a publication to send to their respective customers.
He published his first book at age 92, “Glashow’s Gloombusters;” proof positive that age has no hold over enthusiasm. Glashow died in 1998 at the age of 93.
