JOHNNY JACKSON

JOHNNY JACKSON

Johnny Jackson went to the Lord on July 1, 2017 at the age of 73. Johnny Jackson was born in New Orleans, LA during a time that Jim Crow laws were still in effect. He recalls many stories of fighting for equality for all and his firm belief that we are all created equal. He left Louisiana when he was drafted in the Vietnam War and once he returned back to the United States he found his forever home in Washington State.

Johnny Jackson was a man of great charity and lived by a biblical verse “but you shall freely open your hand to him, and shall generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks” – Deuteronomy 15:8. Johnny was known is his community to help out all that was in need. His career started with Catholic Community Service delivering food-to-food banks to eventually heading the operations at a local food bank. He never turned anyone away and made sure those in need at least had a hot meal to provide their family during hard times. Johnny carried this charitable heart all his life and taught his children what it means to love thy neighbor.

Johnny Jackson leaves behind his devoted wife Renee Jackson who honored her vows for 35 years until the end by taking care of him at his lowest times. He will live on through his children Cherese, Johnny, Leslie, Fletcher, Brian, Kevin, and Domonique. His other two children Shawn and Dana have joined him in the eternal kingdom. He has a legacy of grandchildren and great grandchildren Jasmine, Fletcher, Tenesha Treyvonte, Donovan, Botchie, Diamond, Keisha, Johnny, Taujanae, Kevonie, Kevin, Bryan, Hayleigh, ReRe, Mini, and Zi.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 18th at 2:00 in the afternoon at Hillcrest Burial Park, 1005 Reiten Rd, Kent, WA 98030.
