Jewel Struckmeier Hall

Jewel Marjorie Struckmeier Hall passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, following a 14 month battle with complications from diabetes and liver disease. Jewel was born to Richard and Alma Struckmeier on June 30, 1926, in Scio, OR. In 1964 the Halls moved to Kent, WA. In 1968 Lowell, her husband, became a real estate agent and Jewel joined him as a real estate agent when they opened their own office in Kent, WA in 1972. Lowell and Jewel closed their office and sold their office property in 1984. They spent the rest of their years together traveling around the United States. In 1978 Jewel began to make pine needle baskets and continued to do so for the next 30 years. As a fiber artist Jewel exhibited and sold her art work at many shows and festivals in addition to teaching basket making classes. Jewel became ill October 21, 2007, while in Branson, MO. She was flown home to Kent, WA where she remained until her passing. She was a member of Highline Christian Church. She is survived by her husband Lowell Hall of Kent, WA; two sons, Russell Hall of Seattle, WA and James Hall of Conifer, CO; two grandchildren, James Hall of Flagstaff, AZ and Elizabeth Hall of Mount Vernon, WA; three great-grandchildren, one brother, Glen Struckmeier of Albany, OR; five sisters, Verna Beaman of Hebo, OR, Bernice Struckmeier of Salem, OR, Verna Campbell of Albany, OR, Crystal Mitchell of Bend, OR and Leida Brotten of Eugene, OR and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was beloved by many and will be severely missed. The family requests memorials to your charity of choice.
