Wayne Kan-Twin Chan
Wayne Kan-Twin Chan, age 93, returned home on May 15, 2009. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his family at the home of his daughter in Kent, Washington. Wayne was born October 31, 1916 in Kim Au Village, Chiu Young County, Kwang Tung (Canton) Province, China. He was the oldest living patriarch of the Chan family.He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Prior to working as a custodian for his Church, he was a business owner in Hong Kong and a banker in China. He is survived by his loving wife of 76 years, Faye, son David, daughters Monisa Wong, Audrey Yan and Florence Wong; two sisters in China, Yue Yen Wong and Yue Ngai Chou, twenty grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lai Kuen and his son Austen.A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2009, 11 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 19714 106th Avenue SE, Renton, Washington. Viewing will be at 10 a.m. Graveside service follows after the funeral service at Hillcrest Memorial Park in 1005 Reiten Road, Kent, Washington. His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations are sent to the Perpetual Education Fund, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
