Virginia Mary McKean, 95, was born September 29, 1921 in Clarence, Iowa and died in her Kent home surrounded by her family on November 11, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fergus, of 54 years. She is survived by her 4 children Mary (KM ‘60), Joyce (KM ‘66), John (KM ‘68), and Annette (KR ‘73).
A resident of Kent since 1953, Virginia was a wonderful homemaker on the family’s small Panther Lake farm. She was a long time member of the Kent Music Study Club, taught private piano lessons, and was organist at Highlands Community Church (Renton, 25 years) and Kent Covenant Church (30 years). She also enjoyed working at the Gospel Book and Supply of Kent.
Virginia was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on November 26 at Kent Covenant Church. Burial at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery, Renton. Memorials preferred to New Heights Christian Church, Kent.
The beauty of Virginia’s well-lived life continues to embrace and inspire her family and friends.
