Vernon Floyd Adams, 79, of Orondo, formerly of Auburn/Kent, WA, passed away in Wenatchee, WA, on October 31, 2018. Vernon was born February 28, 1939, in Liberty, Kentucky, the tenth of ten children of Maude (Lee) and Calvin Adams. Vernon joined the United States Marine Corps in 1958 and served our nation for over 8 years. In the Marines, his service took him from California to the Pacific Islands and the waters of the Panama Canal, the ocean surrounding Cuba during the Missile Crisis as well as the jungles of Vietnam twice. He earned the Distinguished Air Medal with three stars. After his honorable discharge, he continued his education and experiences in California, Illinois and Washington State, establishing Classic Printing & Graphics in Kent and continuing as owner/operator in Wenatchee/East Wenatchee from 1990 until his retirement in 2007.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marian, as well as beloved daughters: Shannon (Steve) and Marcy (Neil); granddaughters: Bethany, Talia, Grace, Faith, Hope and Joy. He also left behind siblings: Kenneth (Faye), Blanche, and Louise as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
