Tom Bankord
Tom passed away at the age of 71 on Saturday, May 4, 2013. He was born in Paddock, MN on February 24, 1942. He grew up on a farm in Sebeka, MN and moved to Rosholt, SD in his junior year. After graduation he enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Ft. Lewis. In 1965 he married Patricia A McCauley and they had two children, Cindey and Doug. His life’s goals were spoiling his grandkids and family, helping others, and golfing. He retired from Boeing in 2003 as a manufacturing engineer. Tom was President of Kent Valley Artists for 13 years. This year he gave it up and then got nominated to be secretary. He painted several years ago, but had too many projects to pursue it, but was getting ready to start again. He is survived by his wife, Pat, of 47 years, daughter, Cindey (Steven Lewis), grandkids Nicole (deceased) Kryshna, (Jake Beattiger and baby Ava due May 12), Bryanna, and Zach. His son Doug (April) grandkids Kyle and Ethan. Tom is survived by his siblings: Eunice Bankord-DeSiato (Neil), Helene Jacobson (Dave), Paul Bankord (Zoe) and John Bankord. Tom’s service was held on May 8th.
