Thomasine (Dyke) N. White
Thomasine Nyle Goodwin, age 85, passed away December 8, 2008 in Seattle, Washington. She was born in White Bluffs, WA, on July 10, 1923, where they resided until 1927. They moved to the Wenatchee Valley residing in Leavenworth and Peshastin, before settling in Dryden on May 30, 1929. Mr. Goodwin and family ran a garage and gas station until his death in 1944. Thomasine went through 12 grades of school in Dryden and was married to Clarence Carr on May 30, 1942, four days after graduating. Her son, Larry D. Carr, was born the following April. She lived in Wenatchee and later moved to Seattle in 1950. She married Neil White in 1951 and had lived in the Seattle and Tukwila area ever since.She is survived by her husband, Neil White; son, Larry and wife, Nancy Carr; two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Geri Johns. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Thomas and Sophie Goodwin; two sisters, Marcele Gray and Virginia Jellison; brothers, John Goodwin and Thomas Goodwin Jr.Memorial services will be on Sunday, December 21, at 2:00 p.m. at the Auburn Elks Lodge #1808, 2402 Auburn Way N., Auburn, WA 98002, phone 253-833-1808.Family suggests donations to “Swedish Hospital Home Care Hospice” or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
