Sandra “Sandy” Johnson Peluso, adored
mother, grandmother, passed away December 13, 2010. Sandy was born on December 15,1938 in Brighton, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Delay, her father Cloyce Johnson and her brother Jay Johnson. She moved to Seattle at age 15 and graduated from Franklin High School in 1957. She married Joseph J. Peluso Jr. and had three wonderful children John (Penny); Sally (Rob Mendel) and Lisa (Todd Woomer). She was a mother who enjoyed all the activities of her children and their schools, Sunnycrest, Totem, and Thomas Jefferson HS. She had earned several honors during her life, Honor Society, Voice of Freedom
Contest, Shorthand, Camp Fire Leadership Award, Golden Acorn, and a member of the Federal Way Community Council. She was a stay at-home Mom, teacher’s aide in the Federal Way Schools, a paralegal in Seattle and an Executive Office Administrator with the Boeing Company. Sandy’s greatest joy was her role as a grandmother to Joe and Steven Peluso; Dylan and Emilio Paull and Sarah and Laci Mendel, who called her Tutu.
During the past 19 years, Sandy would gather up her grandchildren for the annual Sandy Claus pictures in December. Sandy has left the world a little nicer than is was before. A celebration of her life was held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Kent Lutheran Church 336 Second Avenue South, Kent, Washington, 98032. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to organizations supporting children, animals or disabled veterans.
