Sally Jo Metcalf of Kent, WA passed away peacefully at home on March 1, 2017 surrounded by her family.
In 1929 Sally was born in Ellensburg, WA to parents Fern Cecelia and Frederick Steltz. She and her brother Gerald were raised at young age by their grandparents Phoebe and Leo Simpson on the Ellensburg family farm.
She attended several High schools and graduated from Aquinas’s Academy of Tacoma in 1948. Sally fondly recalled this school year as her favorite because she became involved in the Dramatic Arts Program, was a member of the Senior Singing Trio and had roles in various plays.
Working at a Seattle restaurant Sally met Gordon Metcalf thru his sister while he was in the Navy. They became pen pals and married in 1952, moving to Kent, WA in 1964. Sally was a homemaker and mother to 5 children. She loved family celebrations, camping trips, shopping, and being a wife and mom.
Sally is survived by her husband Gordon, children Vicki, Gordon, Terri, Glen and Janice, 7 grandchildren 4 great-grand children and nieces and nephews.
Sally embraced life and her family. She is missed and will be forever loved.
