Ruth passed away Saturday morning in her residence at Wesley Lea Hill Retirement Home of natural causes. Born in Worland, Wyoming, and residing in Washington state for over sixty years, she raised a beautiful family alongside her husband, Leon. Teir marriage of 73 years bore 6 siblings, 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
While raising 6 children Ruth achieved an education as a LPN. Her love of people and dedication to hard work lead her to success in careers with Boeing, Tousand Trails, Horizon/Alaska Airlines and Embassy Suites. Her commitment to a Christian life was evident with her involvement at St. Stephens and St. Anthonys/Holy Spirit. Additionally, her membership at Auburn Elks, Mary’s Guild, Padre Pio, and Catholic Community Services was recognized and well appreciated by many. She volunteered at Valley Medical Center, Children’s Hospital Seattle, and numerous church fundraisers. She expressed outwardly the duty of Christian charity and lovingkindness.
Her ability to both enjoy life and guide others was profound. She enjoyed soccer, camping, fishing, bowling, dancing, and singing to Mariachi music. She visited out-of-town relatives, conversed with all generations of her family, crocheted, gardened, and cooked for all. She had a talent for telling stories, new and old, which made her smile glow. Mom loved life and was very blessed to live it to the fullest.
