Rod passed away peacefully on the eve of January 7, 2017 at home from cancer with his wife Betty and canine companion Vincent by his side.
Rod was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on October 12, 1940. Shortly afterwards moving to Renton, Washington. Rod graduated from Kent Meridian High School in 1959. He attended Olympic Junior College, UW and after moving to California, attending UCLA. Rod worked in the financial services industry most of his working career. Retiring in 2003, Rod liked to work on his home, always remodeling something, then in the spring shopping for numerous plants for his yard. He and Betty enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and other destinations in retirement.
Rod is survived by his wife Betty, sister Sherry and brothers John (Pat), Joe (Nelida) and two nieces and two nephews and their families.
A celebration of his life will be on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at LifeWay Church, 5015 SW Dash Point Road, Federal Way.
