Paul Mitchell Stewart, 84 years of age, took his last breath on January 2, 2022, at Valley General Medical Hospital. He was a resident of Covington, WA where he lived most of his life before being promoted to Heaven with his heavenly Father.
Paul was born on August 27, 1937, in Portales, Roosevelt County, New Mexico, USA to Earl Stewart and Velma Mary Little. Paul had one younger brother, Lewis Hamilton who resides in Grapevine, Texas.
After graduating from high school, Paul joined and served in the USA Airforce for four years. He married the love of his life, Shirley Mae Heyart, on September 17, 1961 and took a job with the Boeing Company in Seattle, WA, where he remained his entire career. Paul had many hobbies; he enjoyed cutting and polishing rocks from around the world. He was a member of the Boeing Rock Club. Paul and Shirley travelled in their motor home searching for various rocks to use in their art. Paul was excellent at lapidary and woodworking. Every year he would use his wood scroll and make Christmas ornaments for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. After 20+ years of making ornaments, he cut his final Christmas ornament for the newest great grandchild of his family, due in February 2022. He wrapped and gave it to Kennedy Fraya Graham’s parents Alex and Melissa.
Paul was very active and giving to his church and community and could be counted on to help in any way such as painting, fixing the electrical and ushering at his church throughout the years. He had the biggest heart and was very caring when anyone was in need.
Paul is survived by his loving family, including his brother Lewis Hamilton and family Linda, David and Cyndi, his daughter Rachel Andrew and husband Gary, daughter Lisa Stewart, daughter Chrissy Mead and husband Dale, and daughter Andrea Stewart and husband Derek Hess. He is also survived by his grandchildren who he dearly loved as well: David Andrew, Nathan Andrew, Dustin Stewart and his wife Deanna, Alex Graham and his wife Melissa, Jessica Gorr and partner Christopher Weld, Presley Gorr, Preston Gorr, Carrie Davis and husband John, Kelsey Mead, and great grandchildren Holly Snook, Milo Graham, Oliver Weld and Kennedy Fraya Graham. Paul is truly missed by his family and friends!
