Naomi Woyak Steward, daughter of Rhonda Titus Woyak and John Woyak, died February 22, 2019 at the age of 86.
Naomi was born on July 30, 1932 and was raised near Kent, Washington. She attended Kent Schools K-12. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Seattle Pacific College and Christian Education from Simpson Bible Institute in Seattle where she also met her future husband. She taught in Public Schools for the Edmonds School District. She then taught in Federal Schools in Alaska, Mississippi, Arizona and New Mexico. She then went back to public schools in Tohatchi and Gallup, New Mexico. She later was a substitute teacher in the Kent and Maple Valley School Districts. Naomi and her husband Ray both retired from school teaching at the age of 79.
She had two late sisters – Mary Hornbuckle and Jean McAlexander. She is survived by one sister – Ruth Reisenauer, her husband, Ray Steward, five children, Kenneth Steward, Rebecca Rocco, Rachael Steward, Helena Steward and Esther Steward, eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
