Mary Catherine Christenson
Mary C. Christenson, 98, was born February 21, 1915 in Bismarck, North Dakota to George and Franziska Senger. She passed away on January 7th, 2014. She lived at Arbor Village Memory Care in Kent from 2010 until July of 2013 and then lived at J & L Adult Home Care until her passing.
She was married to Carl (Ted) Christenson from Oct 2, 1964 until his death on July 27, 1993. She was preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings, one great grandson and one great-great granddaughter. She is survived by two sons, Ron Owens, (wife Barbara), of Kennesaw, Georgia and Jack Owens of Pasco, WA, and daughter, Gloria Mitts, (husband Lewis) of Graham, WA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great grand children, 29 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Mary worked as dental assistant until retiring. She enjoyed painting pictures, embroidering, traveling, attending parties with family and friends and working crossword puzzles. She was a generous and loving wife, mother and grandmother. There will be less joy among her family and friends because she is gone, but heaven just might be a little more radiant. She will be remembered and missed.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday January 18th at Cady Cremation Services and Funeral Home, 8418 S. 222nd St. Kent, WA, phone # 253-872-8888.
On Jan 21st will be interned and reunited with her husband at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon 12:00 noon. We should try to be there by 11:45 AM.
