October 6, 1926 – January 12, 2018
Marianne Clare Heriot Goodwin, a resident of Renton, Washington, passed away on January 12, 2018 at the age of 91.
She is survived by five children and their spouses, Dana Heiser (Steven), Michele Fideler (Thomas), Barbara Heriot (Michael Craddock), Marcus Heriot (Diane), Hilary Smith (Daniel); nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Joan Tschida, Jennie Rogers, Joan Heriot, and Joyce Heriot; and many nieces and nephews.
Marianne was preceded in death by her husband Miles E. Goodwin, her first husband, Robert A. Heriot, and her brother Thomas J. Tschida.
Marianne was born in Minnesota to Joseph A. and Clara G. Tschida. After attending College of St. Teresa, she took a job as a flight attendant and moved to Seattle where she met and married Robert. She raised five amazing children, and then returned to work as a commercial insurance underwriter.
She loved to grow beautiful flowers and fat tomatoes in her garden. Marianne was active in Republican Party politics and loved a spirited discussion about current issues and candidates. Her dear cats, Shadow and Sooty, were faithful companions for many years.
Marianne married Miles in 2002 and gained a second family – Steve, Larry, and the late Ken Goodwin, and their families.
Memorial service and visitation Friday, January 19, 2018, 11:00 am, at Marlatt Funeral Home, 712 Central Ave. N, Kent WA 98032. Interment 1:15 pm at Tahoma National Cemetery.
