Margaret A. Claughton
Margaret A. Claughton (nee Frankson) passed away on July 29, 2016, aged 90. Born in 1926 in Texas, Margaret moved with her family to Walla Walla, WA in 1940 and graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1943. She married Calvin E. Claughton,Jr. on May 11, 1947. They had two children, Margaret, born in 1952 and Calvin, III, born in 1955.
She worked for the Federal government in the early 60’s in Seattle, the Walla Walla Union Bulletin in the late 60’s, EXPO 74 in Spokane, and returned to Federal employment in the mid 70’s from which she retired in 1983.
She and her husband lived in Kent, WA from 1978 to 2005 when they moved into assisted living in the Portland-Vancouver area. Her husband Calvin passed away in 2006.
She is survived by her son Calvin, her daughter Margaret and her husband Dan, her brother Dale Frankson, her sisters Melba Anders, and Florence McFall, a sister-in-law, Sylvia Frankson and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
A memorial service was held in Portland, OR on August 13, 2016.
