Kenneth D. Cooper aka “Papa” age 90 of Kent, WA passed way January 2, 2017.
He was the son of Floyd and Minnie Cooper, married Irene Cooper in 1947 and had 3 children, Sandy (Sheridan), Jennie (Versoi) and “K.C.” They had 5 grandchildren Andrew, (twins) Shannon and Stacy, Nic and Amanda.
Kenneth was born in Auburn, WA and later moved to Bryn Mawr. Served in the Navy and his ship was hit when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. Worked for the Kent Schools as a Sub. Bus driver then got on full time with the WA State Hwy Dept. He spent winters in charge of clearing the passes on State Route 410 over Chinook and Cayuse Passes. Summers were spent operating a striping machine painting white lines down the state highways from the King-Pierce County Line to the Canadian border on the western side of the mountains. He retired after 35 years.
During his retirement years he enjoyed traveling with his daughter and grandchildren. Ken was always going somewhere. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and family get togethers.
