Delores A. Moerer, 90, of Kent passed away peacefully on Sunday December 9th, 2018 at Valley General Hospital in Renton, Washington. Delores was born September 13th, 1928 to Esther and Theodore Raddatz in Norcross, Minnesota. As a child she attended Country School and later West Central Agricultural High School.
Delores married Waldemar Moerer on September 14th, 1947 at St John’s Lutheran Church in Dumont, Minnesota. They farmed near Chokio, Minnesota until 1962 when they moved the family to Renton, Washington. In 1969 Delores graduated from Mr. Lee’s School of Cosmetology and worked until she and Wally retired in 1984.
After retiring, they sold their home in Renton and lived in a self-built cabin near Cle Elum, Washington until moving to Ellensburg in 2005. Delores was a founding member of the Ellensburg Parkinson’s support group until 2015. After Wally’s passing in 2015, Delores moved to Kent, Washington to be closer to her sons.
Delores is survived by the families of her sons; Ken & wife Helen; Robert & wife Merridee; Donald & wife Betty; and Scott along with 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother; Virgil, and four sisters; Ila Mae, Hildred, Darlene and Linda. Delores will soon be re-united with Wally at Tahoma National Cemetery. A memorial service at the cemetery is planned for the first week in February 2019. Date and time to be determined.
